About Dr. Markus Husemann-Kopetzky
Pricing expert, researcher, and entrepreneur.
Dr. Markus Husemann-Kopetzky is the founder and managing director of the Price Management Institute. He combines academic depth with top management experience and guides companies through all stages of price management—from pricing strategy, pricing methodology, and pricing psychology to process design, organizational design, and target operating model, through to the selection and implementation of suitable pricing software, supported by performance management and accompanying change management.
Before founding the Institute, he led international pricing initiatives as a Senior Pricing Manager at Amazon at one of the world’s most data-driven retail companies. This hands-on experience in a highly competitive, data-intensive market environment forms the foundation of his consulting approach today: pricing excellence does not start with tools, but with clear strategies, data competence, and a professionally structured organization.
Alongside his entrepreneurial activities, he conducts research as a visiting researcher at Freie Universität Berlin on topics related to price management.
As Chairperson of the largest European pricing conference for retail and e-commerce and author of several specialist books, he has been shaping the international pricing community for over a decade.
His mission: to enable companies to master pricing independently for the long term—rather than creating dependence on consultants. Knowledge transfer is the top priority.
